He and his colleagues at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas believe that a pituitary tumor requires a multidisciplinary approach in regards to the best management. The team includes physicians specialized in endocrinology, otolaryngology, experienced nursing and ancillary staff as well as the neurosurgeon.
  • Many tumors will respond to medical management and do not need to be surgically resected. Those that do not respond to medical management or are causing compression of the nerves for vision require immediate evaluation and possible surgical removal.
