CME Conference: Annual Contemporary Issues in Pituitary Disease: Case-based Management Update
Friday, April 09, 2010
Presented by: Cleveland Clinic’s Endocrinology & Metabolism Institute and the Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center
About the Conference
Pituitary tumors are more common than generally thought, with a prevalence of up to 10% on MR imaging in the general population. At the same time, many endocrinologists and internists may not have sufficient exposure to deal confidently with a variety of pituitary disorders. If not properly treated, pituitary disorders may result in significant morbidity and lower life expectancy. This one-day program will place a heavy emphasis on case discussions to review the best strategies for evaluation and management of pituitary disorders by some of the finest experts in this field. The speakers will share their experience with some of the interesting and/or challenging cases that they have faced. There will be ample time for discussion and questions.
Learning Objectives
Upon Completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1. Discuss the best practices for evaluation, diagnosis and management of a variety of pituitary disorders
2. Review common pitfalls in biochemical evaluation of patients with pituitary disorders
3. Discuss interesting and/or challenging pituitary cases with participating clinicians
4. Discuss new advances in surgical management and radiotherapy of patients with pituitary disorders

University of Virginia Pituitary Days 2010 Conference Patient day April 16th - Health professional day April 17th
Friday, April 16, 2010 - Saturday, April 17, 2010
Pituitary Days 2010 marks the 11th iteration of our educational meeting and forum. Our goal with this year's program, as with all previous meetings, is to provide a unique environment for all participants to gain knowledge regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and management of neuroendocrine diseases. Another common theme to all our meetings is a desire to improve on our previous performance, and this year is no exception.
Building on last year's successes, we will be planning and hosting two separate, but related, meetings. The first day of the meeting, Friday April 16th, will be an all-day event designed for and focused on providing an educational and interactive venue for patients and their families. The second day, Saturday April 17th, will be a CME-sponsored event designed to provide local, regional, and national physicians an opportunity to gain insight from our nationally and internationally recognized faculty into the issues pertaining to the pituitary gland.
